Every speaker is simultaneously in conversation about the same idea, but from different perspectives and different voices. Feel free to wander when the music starts playing and listen to another point of view.
Over a period of 2.5 hours, the whole space traverses a narrative exploring the way of life that has evolved in Louisiana since the introduction of oil and gas in the 30s and 40s. How has our land, water, and community been shaped by industry and what is our future in this time of transition? Listen, question, feel, act.
Caught Up is a collaborative exhibition. Under the artistic direction of Victoria Bradford Styrbicki, nearly a dozen artists have come together from the fields of painting, sculpture, ceramics, sound production, music, and fiber arts to create the immersive and engaging experience in the gallery and through our public programs and outreach.
Click into each artist’s profile for more information and images of their work in the exhibition.
