The Shape of Place

Art & Water Residency: Emily Walley

November 14 – December 13, 2026

Open Studio Hours: Sundays, 11am – 4pm

Through painting and collage, Emily will explore the “Shape of Place” during her residency in the River Valley. Navigating on foot and bike, documenting with photos and sketches, she’ll carry pathways of inspiration back to the studio, developing new works on paper and canvas. Join her in process weekly.

Emily Walley is a visual artist living in Minneapolis, MN. Her painting collapses multiple moments and perspectives from digital archives, physical landscapes, and lived experiences onto a single surface. She earned a BFA from UW-Stout and an MFA from West Virginia University. She has exhibited widely in the Midwest and Seattle area.

The Art & Water Micro Residency is a program of A House Unbuilt, a 501c3 non-profit.
