Crossing Boundaries

(2015)

Crossing Boundaries was a class taught at Harold Washington College in Chicago, IL by Alberto Aguilar. The class was part of a larger residency program he was involved in through the University of Chicago in which he involved other artists in his ongoing body of work. For a week in February, Aguilar invited Victoria Bradford to provide movement based lessons in the class for his primarily visual-based student body from Harold Washington, University of Chicago, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Aguilar is dedicated to making contemporary art practice more available and accessible to his students. Over time, he  has integrated his various life roles with his creative practice and work within his immediate surroundings, rather than a studio space. Using materials at hand, he explores intimate discoveries,  captures fleeting moments, and exchanges with others in tangible form with students from several local universities enrolled.
